Q: Are you hiring?
A: Not at this time. When we do hire we require 4-6 months and about 15 hours per week. We post here and on craigslist when we have a spot open.
Q: How far are you from downtown?
A: We are located in the Historic West Asheville neighborhood within an easy walk to an organic market, grocery, bars, pubs, restaurants, cafes, bakery, brewery, music venues, laundry and post office. We are about 3 miles from the center of town and about 10 minutes driving.
Q: Can two people sleep in one dorm bed.
A: Not if we are full and there is only one bed left. If we have two bunks available, you still have to pay for two beds.
Q: Can I check in after 10pm?
A: Yes, but you will need to let us know that you are going to be late in advance. You will also need to call that day and we will tell you how to get in.
Q: Is the tent cost per person, or per tent?
A: It's per person, and yes, you have full access to the hostel.
Q: Do you offer discounts for military, seniors, Hosteling International members or students?
A: Nope.
Q: Do you allow cats or any other pet besides dogs?
A: Nope.
Q: Can I have something mailed there?
A: Please no.
Q: Do you have age limits?
A: We are welcoming of guests of all ages as long as they are young at heart.
We have found that many of our older guests that are looking for budget accommodations love the economy of the dorms but are not satisfied with the experience. For the discerning experienced traveler we would recommend the added comforts of a private room to still enjoy the overall hosteling atmosphere.
For our very young backpackers the rule is that due to issues with noise and life schedules we do not allow children under 10 in the main house. Children under 10 are permitted in the cottage at no additional charge. Children 10 and over can stay in the private rooms in the main house, but not in the dorms. The charge is $12/night extra. Children over 15 can stay in the dorms when accompanied by a parent. The cost is the full dorm price.
